Your Opportunity In this newly created position, The Director of Asset Management will play a critical role in shaping, leading and executing the asset management function of our multi-family real estate portfolio. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, and financial management to maximize the performance and value of our investments. Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Asset Management will work closely with senior leadership, the investment and property management teams, as well external partners to implement strategies that align with our firm's objectives and investors' expectations. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Strategic Management: Develop and execute asset management strategies for the multi-family portfolio, including value-add initiatives, to enhance property performance and achieve investment objectives. Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial performance of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Monitor market trends and economic conditions to inform financial strategies and risk management. Update portfolio valuations and underwriting based on each asset’s investment performance. Refinancing Initiatives: Lead and manage refinancing efforts for the portfolio, evaluating the best financing options, negotiating terms, and coordinating with lenders and financial partners to secure favorable terms that align with our strategic financial goals. Operational Excellence: Ensure the highest standards of property management are achieved and maintained, focusing on cost efficiency, tenant satisfaction, and operational improvements. Investor Relations: Communicate effectively with investors regarding portfolio performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to stakeholders. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of asset management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to inform asset management strategies and identify opportunities for growth and enhancement within the portfolio. Collaboration: Work closely with the investment, property management, and finance teams to support the underwriting of new opportunities and the execution of the firm's overall investment strategy Leading Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant graduate degree is considered an asset. Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate asset management, with a significant focus on multi-family properties or similar asset classes. Proven track record of developing and executing successful asset management strategies that have resulted in measurable value creation. Strong financial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, and performance analysis. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A deep understanding of the multi-family real estate market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities, would be an asset. A creative, out of the box strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
