**This announcement is extended until May 14, 2024** This position is located in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, in the Division of Visitor, Fire and Resource Protection. They are the highest, most rugged reaches of the Sierra Nevada Mountains (including Mount Whitney at 14,500 feet elevation) and feature the world's largest trees - Giant Sequoias. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are the nation's second oldest national park (established September 25, 1890). The parks provide a wealth of recreational opportunities via 835 miles of trails, wild and scenic rivers, alpine lakes, and caves, along with a full range of overnight lodging prospects to choose from that include 14 campgrounds. Job Requirements

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-05/14/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-10 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualification by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of Specialized experience may include: one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: Providing public safety dispatching (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, and fire) operations in the communications center; prioritizing and/or responding to all 911 calls; providing instructions to callers for medical emergencies using an approved Emergency Medical Data card-set; operating with law enforcement computerized databases such as the law enforcement telecommunications system (LETS), justice information system (JIS), national crime information center (NCIC) and; preparing written records to capture all significant events for later analysis; utilizing emergency reporting systems to coordinate emergency response and; providing training on law enforcement and/or public safety dispatching systems. You must include hours per week worked. There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level of this announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
